If you wanted to make your own wedding dress, it is all about planning ahead and be sure you have plenty of time to make it especially if you are a beginner, to allow some extra time if you hit a wall. Be sure you have a back up plan just incase your project did not turn out so well.
Choosing a wedding dress is very overwhelming It has been there 12 years ago when I had to search for my perfect wedding dress, I would say it was the most stressful part of wedding planning to be honest. Lucky for me my dad planned my wedding so I did not have to worry about the little details of the wedding he got it covered. All I had to worry was choosing the perfect wedding dress. I found a picture of the dress I love on a trendy wedding magazine I had it made to fit me. The seamstress did really well copying the exact design and style. Even then my perfect wedding dress wasn't perfect because I never tried it on since my Mom forbade me to do so she is very superstitious when it comes to stuff like that. They said it is bad luck to try on the dress or the wedding will get canceled or the Groom will not show up. So my Mom hid the dress somewhere I can't find it until the wedding day. Needless to say the sleeves are too big but it wasn't gonna stop me from marrying my man, the wedding must go on!
"Remember it's not just about the dress, it's the person you are marrying and going to be with forever." - Modestly Aldo
Check out the beautiful details on the bodice, sleeves, and hemlines!
I used vintage beaded lace trim that was purchased off of eBay for like $2!
I had plenty of vintage lace trim and I was able to add some on the neckline and sleeves. I cut out small sections of the lace trim to achieve a cascading lace trim effect on the sleeves. The pieces I cut out from the sleeves I sew them on the neckline.
I love the hemline this makes this dress a legit wedding dress. The cream color fabric and cream color lace trim with pearls are meant for each other.
